FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can foreigners legally marry in Mexico?
Yes. Legal marriage in Puerto Vallarta and Nayarit is binding everywhere and the requirements are the same for Mexican and foreign citizens. Our packages are symbolic ceremonies; a legal ceremony can be added. If you live outside Mexico, check with your local government office about recognition in your country.
How early should we arrive?
Arrive at least 3 business days before a symbolic ceremony and 4 before a legal one (arrival day counts as day 0).
What is included in the legal ceremony?
Legal fees such as counsel and translation are not included in the packages. We guide you through the paperwork and the marriage certificate is issued after the legal ceremony.
Do you host same-sex weddings?
Yes. Same-sex marriage is legal in Mexico and we celebrate every couple with the same care. You can have both a legal and a symbolic ceremony.
How does payment work?
You pay a $320 USD deposit online by card to hold your date. The balance is settled before your ceremony; we will confirm the details by email.
Is the deposit refundable?
No. All payments are final and non-refundable, including the $320 USD deposit and venue scouting tours. If you need to change your date, contact us as early as possible and we will help you find the best option.
What if the weather is bad?
We watch the forecast with you and move the ceremony to the best window or a backup setting. Ask us about our date-change policy when you book.
Can friends and family join?
Yes. Seaside Elopement is for the two of you plus your photographer and officiant; Golden Hour Wedding welcomes up to 10 guests and Tropical Luxury Wedding up to 15.
